Calcium and magnesium can also help this condition and should be taken together to make them more absorbable. Magnesium helps to maintain normal nerve function and has muscle relaxing properties. Always consult your doctor if you are taking prescription medication before taking any supplements.

Restless leg syndrome can also be helped through exercise, especially walking, biking, swimming and stretching. A regular exercise program also helps to let you sleep better. Another cure for restless leg syndrome to try is warming the legs up with a heating pad in the evening before you go to bed and then massaging each leg. It's purpose is to aid in calming your nerves and relaxing your muscles.
